Beautiful connections
My time each day in nature is very sacred to me. It’s a reflective time, a meditative experience and deeply prayerful.
The time is spent on my own, with the Divine, with Mother Earth, the trees, the river, and all of the little “friends” who are also delighting in the day.
I can go an entire walk without seeing people on the trail – which, as an introvert – suits me just fine.
And yet, there are days where I am reminded just how beautiful people are and how lovely it actually is to connect, beyond a wave or a smile.
The past couple of days I’ve met and chatted with a handful of absolutely delightful people and some really awesome kids.
I so appreciate people on the trail who make an effort to connect and share a few moments – without all of the weirdness.
I especially adore the kids who are so delightful in their imaginations and adventures in nature, who – in their innocence – carry on like “normal” kids do. It’s so refreshing and as it should be.
Connections are available to each of us everyday – just unplug from your phones, look into people’s eyes, smile and make an effort to say hello. You may even brighten someone’s day.
Whatever “weirdness” may be out there, we are creating – and perpetuating.
It’s up to each of us to share our light and love and to connect with each other again.
