Being open to feedback

I made a beautiful vegetable curry for dinner this evening.

It was a lengthy, enjoyable  process and the end result was delicious.

But it took me be willing to listen to ideas and feedback to get it there.

I was trying out a new recipe and it just wasn’t quite there – something was missing.

I was at a loss and stuck in the weeds.

Fortunately I had willing taste testers who offered up a few great suggestions.

I implemented the advice and together we took what was a good curry and created a delicious, hearty, great curry.

Which happened to also be infused with love.

When you’re in deep it’s often a good idea to get an outside perspective and be open to feedback.

As long as you want the same thing – in this case we all wanted to enjoy a beautiful, tasty, healthy dinner – then the advice will likely be in your best interest and worth considering.

Full transparency, at first I only took 3 out of the 4 pieces of advice – which definitely made a huge difference – but it was the 4th idea that brought it home.

Be open to receive and humble enough to implement.
