Feel what you feel

When emotions come up, honour them.

Have what you have. 

Don’t tuck them under the carpet. 

Don’t dismiss them.

Don’t avoid them.

Instead, invite them into the mix of the soup – of you.

Think about how you feel when you’re upset and someone says, “don’t cry” or “it’s ok.” Probably dismissed and disrespected.

Your feelings are there FOR you. It’s feedback. Pay attention.

Don’t miss the opportunity to embrace them and invite them into the party.

I just realized that I have even been forgetting to do this over the past few days – which is helping me to understand why I have been feeling emotionally “off.”

I forgot to give my self the space to honour what was coming up for me and to love it all.

*sigh.

The hardest part is actually just remembering to do the work.

But don’t worry, if you’re like me and you forget sometimes, the “opportunity”will just keep showing up until you do.
