History repeating itself

Human beings are interesting creatures. For some reason, it seems we don’t learn very well from our past.

With how brilliant we are – that’s just not that smart.

Is it our pride that gets in the way?

Is it our need to figure it out on our own?

Is it the ego thinking it knows best?

Are we so naive to think that history doesn’t repeat itself?

Or do we just think we’re smarter than those people?

Like anything, if we’re not doing things at a smaller scale, then it’s likely not going to happen at a larger scale.

Meaning, if you aren’t learning and growing from your personal mistakes or those of your family, how can we as a collective be expected to learn from our history? It starts at home.

As Eckhart Tolle shares, we can only be expected to operate from our level of consciousness in that moment – which doesn’t let us off the hook from the consequences – however, it does help to understand people and their actions better.

This idea of level of consciousness also applies to groups –  even countries.

This is where I think personal responsibility is so important. To me, it’s paramount that people be doing what they can to raise their level of consciousness, to not only help themselves, but their families, their communities, their country and the world.

And yet, I know that’s not where the majority of people are at.  Personal responsibility and 100% accountability are not common practice.

But there is still so much hope.  Through suffering comes awakening.

I can only control me, so I will continue to look in the mirror, grow, learn, raise my energy frequency and consequently pull up those around me.

I choose to be apart of the solution and continue to find ways to do and be more.

I choose to learn from my past and make this moment better and make the world better.

We are each the solution.
