Honour who you are
I was reminded by my beautiful kitty Koby, that we are who we are – and we need to honour and respect that, both in ourselves and in others.
Koby is my little friend. My cuddle buddy. My mini me who follows me around everywhere and is super loving.
Until today.
Today, his inner beast came out – which I’ve only seen one other time for the same reason – another cat.
His instincts took over and he momentarily became a wild animal.
When I was training to do energy work on horses in Rogers, Arkansas, this point really hit home because of the size of a horse. It’s easy to get lost in their majestic beauty, and yet, if they get spooked, you’re not going to want to be in their way – or holding their reigns such that you get dragged along for a ride.
Our beautiful, loving, friends have been domesticated but their instincts are still intact. It doesn’t make them bad, it’s just part of them being an animal.
When being around all animals – no matter how cute they are – we would do well to respect and honour that.
The same is true for people.
People are who they are, and we are each unique with different strengths, weaknesses, talents and gifts.
We have to honour who a person is at their core – and not expect them to be something they’re not.
We are each these beautiful bodies – and yet what goes along with being human are many flaws.
Everyone has their own flavour, but we’re all perfectly imperfect, otherwise we likely wouldn’t even be here.
How can we expect perfection from others? How can we expect them to be something they’re not?
We’re each here to evolve and grow – but remember that it’s a journey – and we’re not there yet.
