In a new unit of time

I’ve been a student of A Course In Miracles for over 2 years.

I’m on day 52 of my 3rd round of the workbook lessons, which takes a minimum of 365 days to complete.

One thing that I am reminded of as I progress through the lessons is how important it is to revisit “old” material.

It may seem like it’s totally rewritten, completely new – but it’s actually you that’s changed – the teachings are the same.

Truth remains the Truth.

For me, as I’m re-reading and re-applying the lessons, things are starting to make more sense, the teachings are starting to click.

The first time reading ACIM it was like reading a whole new language – I really didn’t understand it at all, but I hung in there and did the lessons anyway.

This round is completely different which is really cool.

The words and the lessons feel very different, and the principles are starting to make sense.

I’ve changed. I’ve grown and learned so much in the past two years.

This is why I prefer to go deep versus wide, meaning I prefer to study the same body of work in depth versus learning a million new things and never really fully understanding or mastering what I’m reading.

This round of ACIM has really affirmed this principle for me.

I’m thinking about the 65+ books I’ve read in the past 2 years and wondering which ones are worthy of a 2nd read, knowing that I will get so much more from re-reading it.

In each unit of time, we are different, we are new.

Consider approaching life with that fresh, new perspective – being humble and ready to learn again as a beginner would.
