It's in the little things
A smile, a hug, a thank you…
The little things really do matter.
The little things can change someone’s day.
They can even change someone’s life.
One of the little things that I like to do each day is bless people – especially while out on the trail.
Each person I pass, I silently say to myself a version of a blessing I learned from my A Course in Miracles teacher, Marianne Williamson.
“The love in me, salutes the love in you. I pray for your happiness and fulfillment. May you be blessed, may you be happy, may you be healthy, may you be loved – and may your heart be filled with peace.”
It’s just a simple thing, but if all minds are connected – and I believe that they are – then it matters.
Taking that extra moment with each person you meet – whether that’s sharing a smile, connecting with your eyes so they feel seen and acknowledged, exchanging a few words to allow someone to feel heard, or blessing them – those little things can really add up to making this world a better place.
