It's okay to be scared
I have some changes coming this year that I’m really excited about and as I discovered today, I’m also a bit scared about – well, maybe terrified would be a better description.
Getting out of our comfort zone is meant to scare us. I see it as a really wonderful opportunity to grow.
But it doesn’t make it any less scary.
As I sat by the edge of the river, I just surrendered it all and got to work on it.
I allowed whatever wanted to come up, to come up – which included tears.
As Dr. Sue teaches, have what you have!
It felt very freeing – and releasing – literally with the tears – to just honour what was coming up and to sit with it, while gently central channel breathing and giving a little “hug” to any areas that needed some extra love and attention.
It was the perfect place to let all of this come up – being supported by Mother Earth, being soothed by the sound of the river as it flowed over the rocks, and having the sun peaking in on me to ensure I was ok.
It’s so easy to just glaze over our feelings or shove them down or avoid them altogether – but then we miss the opportunity to really use them to our advantage – to “build circuits.”
I haven’t been particularly good about giving myself space to process these changes and to really feel into it, so although unexpected, it was welcomed. It was time.
You might be surprised at how good it feels to just be present with what is. Just don’t forget to breathe.
