Let kids be kids

I met the most enthusiastic, curious, adventurous, bright, confident and loving 5 year old girl on my walk today.

We were instant friends.

She lead me hand in hand down to the creek where we looked for "sea shells," she showed me how to climb up a big wooden canoe loading rack, she picked me flowers and she gave me big hugs.

It was beautiful.

We even got a picture together, so she could remember me - she asked if she could take a selfie with me :)

How cute is that?

Parents, take note! This is how to raise kids!

Her Mom and Dad have protected her from this insanity and they've not let it effect her.

No masks. No vaccines. Just a happy, healthy family.

Truthfully, I can't even imagine some of the conversations that kids have been privy to and the burden of fear and stress that's been unnecessarily bestowed upon them.

I think some parents have forgotten that it's our job to protect our kids from adult issues like fear and stress, that are beyond their comprehension and age level.

It saddens me to see kids in masks, afraid to high five and conditioned to stay away from people - it's not healthy and it's only hurting them.

Our kids are the ones who are going to hurt the most through "this" - and that's 100% on us.

They're children.

Let them be kids.

Let them play with friends, be outside, explore and have fun.

Let them hug and be the loving beings they naturally are.

It was so refreshing to be witness to my new little friend's excitement for life and to be apart of this awesome exchange.

It totally made my day and reminded me of what's possible.

Not a care or a worry in the world.

Just the desire to have fun, explore and share it all with me.

She was letting love lead.

All heart.

Pure love.

An absolute blessing.

Well done Mom and Dad. Thank you for having the courage to go against the norm and do right by your child. She is an absolute treasure.
