Mind your energy

It’s easy to get caught up in the dramas of life – news, family, politics, social media – but drama is a distraction and it’s taking you away from your mission.

If you have “X” amount of energy each day, then every time you choose to give that energy to someone or something, you have less energy to focus on what matters most to you.

Think of it like having one bucket of water per day – although if you’re able to tap into Source it’s essentially unlimited – how many different buckets are you pouring that water – or energy – into?

When was the last time you actually looked at how many buckets you have and what they represent?

Are they truly where you want to be spending your energy?

If you’re being honest with yourself, are the “buckets” serving you and your greater mission or purpose?

I’m getting better and better at minding my energy, meaning, spending it on what is important to me and ensuring that the buckets I’m pouring my energy into are the “right” buckets.

Perhaps those “buckets” are where you get the most ROI, where you are making the biggest difference, where you feel the most uplifted and renewed. Those buckets may be represented by the people who mean the most to you or are areas that have the greatest impact long term.

Ideally they’re going to be aligned with your mission or purpose, moving you closer towards your dreams.

At the end of the day, I want to know that I “spent” my energy wisely – allowing me to have the greatest impact – and if not, I know it’s time to make some changes.

We’re each here to do big things – so ensure your energy is focused on what matters most.
