Take things lightly

I am definitely guilty of taking life too seriously at times, in that I love to analyze everything, find solutions and get to the root cause of what’s going on. I’ve been known to  overthink things, to a fault.

Sometimes I need to remind myself just to chill. 

In those moments of overthinking, I’m getting caught up in the physical world, so it helps to remind myself that I am not this physical body, that I am just here having this brief – and awesome – human experience. 

The best way for me to shift out of thinking is by taking a few conscious breaths and really getting back into my body, noticing all of the sensations and the energy and following my breath.

Life isn’t meant to be as serious as I make it.

I like viewing life as a game – and last I checked, games are meant to be fun.

So in case you needed a gentle reminder today – like I did – make sure to smile, have fun and take things lightly.

Remember that in 1 year, 5 years or 20 years – whatever is going on will likely be laughable – so why not laugh now instead?.
