Tell yourself the truth
The number one person you have to be accountable to is yourself.
You always know when you’re half assing something, not doing your best, or breaking your word to yourself or others.
Keeping your word and being honest – especially to yourself – builds confidence and character.
How you see yourself – your identity – is paramount.
The rest of the world will catch up eventually – or not – but you’ll always know the truth.
I’ve been observing myself going through the motions, getting things done – but not to the best of my ability – and then justifying it. I wasn’t being honest with myself.
I could see how this pattern has continued to show up in my life – and the consequence of it.
We are the product of the decisions that we make and more importantly we are the result of our habits.
Fortunately the wisdom of a mentor guided me down a brighter path – one that will allow me to feel good about myself, will build my character and upgrade my identity – and bring me that much closer to the person I want to become.
These seemingly insignificant little things really add up.
Even though other people may or may not see them – you see them.
It’s your character. It’s your integrity.
Be honest with yourself. Tell yourself the truth.
At the end of the day – you have to look yourself in the mirror.
How do you feel about the person looking back at you?
