Think about what you think about
Instead of blindly taking in or accepting ideas and moving on too quickly, consider thinking deeply. Sit with concepts. Use discernment. Bring consciousness to what you’re learning.
Take time to think, reflect, go deeper, contemplate, ask questions and be open to understanding; to learning something new and gaining a different perspective.
What if you applied this to the next book you read? How much more could you glean from the author’s wisdom?
I’m definitely guilty of moving on to the next book or even the next chapter too quickly, without fully digesting or integrating what I’ve just read. Typically it’s because I’m so excited about what I’m reading and want to learn more – but the “more” was right in front of me – embedded in the pages that were just turned.
What if we slowed down and let ideas percolate like a beautiful cup of coffee… and take the time to think about what we’re thinking about?
