To know and not do

25 years ago I intuitively knew not to listen to those who weren't taking their own medicine.

At the time, we were vegetarian and my doctor was concerned about my son's extra weight, so he sent a nutritionist to our home to provide some nutritional counselling.

I'm sure she was a lovely and intelligent woman but all I saw was the irony of her being obese. Needless to say, everything fell on deaf ears.

How can we expect others to respect us if we're not respecting ourselves?

How can we - with a clear conscience - tell people to do one thing, and yet we do another?

Several years ago I stepped away from being a health practitioner for this very reason.

I was overweight and at the time not willing to do what I was asking my clients to do.

I knew I was out of integrity.

And so began my beautiful health journey - I got honest, I took responsibility, I took action, I created new habits and overtime I've had awesome results.

It's easy to accumulate an abundance of information and knowledge but is it true wisdom and are you putting it into action?

To know and not do is to not know.

Are you a walking billboard of what you believe and teach - or what you sell?

Results will always be more powerful than words.
